Combating Algae

Every aquarist knows and fears it: algae.

An Aquarium completely free of algae is not possible, nor is it a useful goal. Algae are an important producer of oxygen and are a food source for herbivorous fish, snails and shrimp. A certain amount of them is therefore desirable.

Action is required howvever if the water is turbid, plants, glass and stones are overgrown. Mass algae growth is a sign that something is wrong.

The causes are in most cases too much light and a nutrient surplus in the form of phosphate.

With our liquid preparation AlgoSol you can reliably handle the most common types of algae in the Aquarium environment.
